This month's pick is A Boy's Own Story by Edmund White, originally published in 1982.

This semi-autobiographical novel tells the story of a boy coming to terms with his sexuality as he navigates adolescence in the 1950s, struggling to understand himself amid the scrutiny of his family and classmates. White, who passed away last June, was a crucial figure in LGBTQ+ literature throughout the latter half of the 20th century.
